The Historical Register for the Year 1736
- The Historical Register for the Year 1736
The Historical Register for the Year 1736 is a 1737 play by Henry Fielding. A satire, it contained thinly veiled attacks on British politicians and led to the passage of the Licensing Act of 1737, which placed drama under the control of the government. This ended Fielding's career as a dramatist.
