The Pontop Pike transmitter broadcasts the strongest signal on 95.4FM. This transmitter, one of the first in the country, provides

The 96FM frequency from Chatton covers most of the populated areas of eastNorthumberland and the transmitter has national radio frequencies and television channels. The other two FM transmitters are much weaker. The Fenham transmitter, for west Newcastle andGateshead situated close to the studios on Barrack Road, also broadcasts television, national radio,BBC DAB National ,Digital One , the MXR North East 12C multiplex,100-102 Century FM on 96.2,Metro Radio on 103 andGalaxy 105-106 on 105.6. The Newton transmitter also has television channels, national radio, 100-102 Century FM on 96.4, Metro Radio on 103.2, and Galaxy 105-106 on 105.8. The award-winning "Mike Parr at Breakfast" begins the day at 6:30am and followed by Jonathan Miles at 10am. The afternoon show at 1pm is presented by Alfie Joey, prior to the drivetime show at 4pm, presented by Anne Leuchars, Jon Harle (Monday - Thursday) and Martin Emmerson (Friday). "The Evening Show" with James Clark follows at 6:30pm from Monday to Thursday with "More Than Soul" occupying the slot on Friday. The late show with Paddy MacDee airs from 10pm and Ian Robinson presents "The Nightshift" on weeknights between 1:00am and 6:30am (1:00am until 6:00am on Friday night/Saturday morning).

Sue Sweeney presents the first of two Saturday shows from 9am, followed by "Alfie's Comic Cuts" with Alfie Hoey at 1pm. During the football and rugby union season, the Saturday sports programme is broadcast from 2pm to 6pm. Evening output comprises "Beat Surrender" with Jamie Wilkinson at 6:30pm and the second of Sue Sweeney's shows, "Late Night Sue", between 10pm and 1am. "The Nightshift" with Ian Robinson airs from 1:00am until 6:00am.
