Stan Grossfeld is a two-time
Pulitzer Prize -winning photographer, writer and editor at "The Boston Globe". He was born December 20, 1951, inNew York City and graduated from theRochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Professional Photography in 1973. After two years inNewark, New Jersey , atThe Star-Ledger he went to work for "The Boston Globe". While working at the paper Grossfeld graduated fromBoston University with a Master of Journalism degree in 1980. He became chief photographer at the "Globe" in 1983. The next year he won his first Pulitzer Prize in the category of "Spots News Photography" for photographs of the people ofLebanon . In 1985, he won again when he shared the prize in the "Feature Photography" category for his images of starvation inEthiopia and illegal aliens on the border ofMexico . Named Associate Editor of the "Globe" in 1987, Grossfeld photographs many subjects, including sports.References
