Gashadokuro

In Japanese folklore, Gashadokuro (がしゃどくろ) are giant skeletons, often fifteen times taller than an average person. If a gashadokuro sees a human, it will grab it and bite its head off if it does not flee quickly. Gashadokuro are created from gathering bones from people who have died of starvation. The only way a gashadokuro can be detected before it appears is by hearing a ringing in one's ears.

* In the series Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Gasha Dokuro is one of the main villains. He appears in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, and Power Rangers Zeo as "Rito Revolto".
* In the Squaresoft videogame "Chrono Trigger", there is a gashadokuro boss called Zombor.
* In "Castlevania 64", the first boss is a gashadokuro.
* In "", a gashadokuro rises from the ground of a cemetery and rakes the ground to unleash many monsters on Hellboy.
*In Goemon's Great Adventure a gashadokuro is encountered in an early level while on a bridge.
* In the you will find a gashadokuro named Skull Keeta by the graveyard, although it is sort of a miniboss it's quite easy to take down and you will get the Captain's hat of it.
*In the Anime and Manga Shaman King, Vaust VIII has the ability to control bones and creates a giant skeleton which is very reminisent of a Gashadokuro
