CJCB-AM is a Canadian radio station which broadcasts from Sydney, Nova Scotia on the AM dial at 1270 kHz with a power of 10,000 watts. The station is one of the oldest radio stations in the Atlantic Provinces, hitting the airwaves on February 14, 1929. CJCB plays a country music format.

The station is owned by Halifax-based company Maritime Broadcasting System, a company that owns several other radio stations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.

CJCB played a variety of music prior to switching to its current format in June 1998: oldies, classic rock and CHR.

Over the years, CJCB used monikers such as as "The Spirit of Cape Breton", "AM's Variety Station", "Cape Breton's Superstation", and "Cape Breton's Country Favorites".

CKPE-FM and CHER are its sister stations.

(CJCB was formerly a callsign of a radio station out of Nelson, British Columbia possibly dating back to the early 1900's).

The CJCB call letters are also used at a Television station in Sydney, Nova Scotia that was launched in 1954.

From 1938-76, CJCB broadcast in shortwave under the call letters CJCX. [ [http://www.tdp.info/can.html Shortwave radio transmitters in Canada ] ]
