Sanskrit : कणाद; also transliterated as "Canada" as well as other forms) was aHindu sage who founded the philosophical school ofVaisheshika . He talked of Dvyanuka (biatomicmolecule ) and tryanuka (triatomicmolecule ) He probably lived around600 BCE according to some accounts. It is believed that he was born inPrabhas Kshetra (nearDwaraka ) inGujarat ,India . His area of study wasRasavādam , considered to be a type ofalchemy . He believed that all living beings are composed of five elements: water, fire, earth, air, ether. Vegetables have only water, insects have water and fire, birds have water, fire, earth and air, Humans the top of the creation has ether the sense of discrimination. (time, space, mind)are one. Kal is time, the universal mind, the ruler of the first spiritual region. In religions he is called Satan or Devil and soul is the light part of the creator, the drop of the Ocean. He theorised that Gurutva was responsible for the falling of objects on the Earth.Vaiseshika is one of the six orthodox (vedic) schools ofIndian philosophy , usually paired withNyaya , another of those six.It is believed that he often abstained from food by eating dirt.Fact|date=November 2007
