Israel from theWest Bank . The Amer's home is now separated from their orange and olive groves by electrified fences, a military road and a checkpoint. Rivas shows how Hani and his children wait patiently each morning for soldiers to unlock the gate to allow Hani to go to work and the children to get to their school."The Color of Olives" was shot using only natural light.
In the United States, the movie opened in New York at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in the East Village. It was shown with English subtitles.
