Daniel Killingsworth (June 1, 1835 - September 15, 1862) was a lawyer and Confederate officer.

Before the War
Killingsworth was born in Fayette, Alabama, in 1835. He was an early graduate of the University of Alabama. When the American Civil War began he was a farmer in Fayette, Alabama.
Private life
He married Mary Ann Lamar in July 1861.
War Service
Killingsworth was mustered into Company G, th Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment, elected Captain on August 3, 1861. He was elected major of the Regiment on November 16, Lieutenant-Colonel January 18, 1862, and finally to Colonel, May 10, 1862.
He participated in nearly all of the major campaigns in the East, including First Manassas, Seven Pines, Gaines' Mill, Second Manassas, and Sharpsburg.
Death
Killingsworth was mortally wounded at Crampton's Gap, and died the following day in Burkittsville, Maryland. He is interred in the family plot, in Fayette County, Alabama.
He was succeeded by LTCOL Buford in command of the Regiment.
