Klaartje Quirijns (born
1967 ,Amsterdam ) is a Dutch film and television director and producer.In
The Netherlands she worked as a documentary director and producer for the leading public stations (VPRO, IKON and NPS). Quirijns is currently (as of2006 ) based inNew York City . Her recent credits include a documentary called "Brooklyn Dodgers" (about the team). Far more controversial is "The Brooklyn Connection" (2005) in which she interviewed Albanian-American gun runnerFlorin Krasniqi , and even accompanies him on a purchase of weapons from an Army Surplus store ( [http://www.pbs.org/pov/searchresults_site.html?q=Brooklyn+Connection&x=8&y=9/] )She is currently working on a feature documentary, "On the Couch", which visualizes the ultimate modern city as a mental institution where everybody seems to have his or her own therapist.
