Ninth Letter is a literary magazine that publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. It is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the School of Art + Design and the Creative Writing Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ninth Letter exists in two related but distinct forms: a biannual print magazine and a website that features new electronic content on a continuous basis. First published in 2004.

Awards and honors

Ninth Letter has received numerous awards in graphic design, including honors from the University and College Designers Association [1], Type Directors Club, Step Inside Design Magazine [2], and HOW design [3]. Literary work from Ninth Letter has been reprinted in awards anthologies including Best American Short Stories, Pushcart Prize, Best New Poets, Best New Fantasy, Best Creative Nonfiction, and others.
