- Walter Vielhauer
Walter Vielhauer (April 1, 1909 in
Reutlingen - April 19, 1986 inHeilbronn ) was a communist and anti-fascist of Heilbronn who was held captive in the age ofNazi Germany .For the first time he was arrested in March 1933 and kept some weeks imprisoned in the new concentration camp Heuberg.
After his discharge he continued his struggle against fascism, in the autumn of 1933 he was arrested once again.
He was condemned to five and a half years penintentiary, which he had to spend in solitary confinement.
After these years he spent the remaining time of Nazi Germany in different concentration camps: Welzheim, Dachau, Mauthausen, Buchenwald.In June 1945 he was deployed by the US army as assistant of the lord mayor, until 1948 he was responsible for social affairs in Heilbronn.
