Training technology

Training technology

Training Technology is a body of tools used in delivering information and skill-development exercises for the purpose of improving performance.

Training is typically delivered live ("synchronous") or created for distribution later as it is needed ("asynchronous").

Training Technologies can assist in delivering both. Older technologies might include a blackboard and chalk or whiteboard, a filmstrip, slide projector, overhead projector.

Newer technologies might include web conferencing, HTML-formatted content, posting PowerPoint, .pdf, or Flash files to websites for anytime downloading, blogs and podcasts. Some of the newer training technologies encourage viewer interaction and addition as in posting a comment to a learning-oriented blog, or making an edit or addition to a wikipedia article.
