December 5 , 1964, in Edmonton,Alberta ,Canada ) is a formerNational Hockey League centre. He was drafted in the third round, 55th overall, by theCalgary Flames in the1983 NHL Entry Draft .After playing two seasons at the
University of North Dakota , Berezan made his NHL debut with the Flames near the end of the 1984–85 season. He played with the Flames until March of the 1988–89 season, when he was traded (along withShane Churla ) to theMinnesota North Stars in exchange forBrian MacLellan and a draft pick.Berezan joined the
San Jose Sharks as a free agent before their inaugural season of 1991–92. He retired, as a Shark, following the 1992–93 season.In his NHL career, Berezan appeared in 378 games. He scored 61 goals and added 75 assists. He also appeared in 31
Stanley Cup playoff games, scoring four goals and adding seven assists.He was given credit for the series-clinching goal in the 1986 Campbell Conference Finals which was actually put into the net by
