James Butler, 1st Earl of Ormonde (c.1305-

Sir Edmund Butler , Earl of Carrick, Justiciar of Ireland, (1268- 13 September 1321) and Lady Joan FitzGerald, and married in 1327,Lady Eleanor de Bohun , (17 October 1304- 7 October 1363),) daughter ofHumphrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford by his spouseElizabeth of Rhuddlan , daughter of KingEdward I of England andEleanor of Castile .His paternal grandparents were Theobald le Botiller (1242- 1285), (son of Theobald le Botiller and Margery de Burgh), andJoan FitzGeoffrey (died 4 April 1303), daughter ofJohn FitzGeoffrey , Lord of Shere, Justiciar of Ireland, andIsabel Bigod . His maternal grandparents were John FitzThomas FitzGerald, 1st Earl of Kildare and Blanche de La Roche, who was the daughter of John de La Roche, Lord Fermoy and Maud de Waleys (Walsh).They had two daughters and two sons: [Charles Cawley"Medieval Lands", Earls of Ormond]
