- Dolly mixture
-
For the band, see Dolly Mixture (band).
Dolly mixture is a British confection, consisting of a variety of multi-coloured fondant shapes, such as cubes and cylinders, with subtle flavourings. The mixtures also include hard-coated fondants in "round edged cube" shapes and sugar coated jellies. They are sold together, in a mixture in a medium-sized packet. It is produced by various companies in different countries; the most popular brands are those produced by Trebor Bassett (now a part of the Cadbury's consortium) and HARIBO.
The name "Dolly" refers to the small size of the sweets.[citation needed]
The Goon Show character, Bluebottle, was frequently rewarded, or able to be bribed, with a quantity of Dolly mixture.
