Fictional character biography
The Dr. Wolfgang Heinrich was a respected bio-physicist in Russia. Secretly a mutant, he possesses the power to take on the appearance and powers of any other nearby mutant. He also ran a secret research program that involved using mutants, dead or alive, as biological weapons. He uses the Crimson Dynamo as the guard for his facility.
Cameron Hodge, the public relations officer for X-Factor, is contacted through unofficial channels, thanks in part to Father Alexi Garnoff's mutant exile cell. X-Factor, under the story of sharing their mutant-hunting tech with the Russians, takes a trip in order to investigate.
Impersonation
Bobby Drake, Iceman is drugged, captured and replaced by Heinrich. Bobby's life is saved by rebellious forces. The impersonation is discovered and a battle breaks out. The Crimson Dynamo is neutralized thanks to a code Beast has overheard. Heinrich, using Bobby's powers, creates too much ice and the floor beneath him collapses.
He is seen alive, on board a plane bound for the United States.[volume & issue needed] Apparently, Dr. Heinreich retains his mutant powers after the M-Day.[volume & issue needed]
