The Reverend Charles Hutton Coates (4 May 1857 – 15 February 1922)[1] was a clergyman who also played international rugby union for England. An all round sportsman, he competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London for Great Britain in archery.

At the Olympics Coates entered the men's double York round event in 1908, taking 18th place with 418 points.
