Wellington High School is a public school located in Wellington, Florida, in central Palm Beach County.

Curriculum

School begins on 7:23 AM and ends on 2:50 PM.

English

Four Credits of English are required. English 1 is offered all the way up to AP English.

ocial Studies

World History And American History are required to graduate.

Math

Four Credits of Math are required to graduate. Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus are offered.

Four Credits of Science are needed to graduate. Integrated Science (formerly known as Earth Sciences), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Marine Biology, and the Veterinary Academy are all offered.

Foreign Languages

Two Credits of a Foreign Language is required to graduate high school. Spanish and French are both offered from Spanish and French 1 up to AP Spanish and French. American Sign Language is also offered.

Magnet Programs

The Veterinary and the new Drafting and Design Academies are offered as magnet programs at WHS. The Little Theatre is currently being converted into two science labs and a long distance communications lab. It is scheduled to be completed in Dec. 2008.

Extra Curricular Programs

Debate

The debate team has had much success in regional and even national competition.

The Girls soccer team were the state champions in the 2007-2008 school year. There are also a full complement of team sports, including Football, Soccer, Swimming, Bowling, Basketball and Track.

Music

The Mighty Wolverine Sound Marching Band [http://www.whsband.com/] has many participants. The band is directed by Mary S. Oser, who is assisted by 2-3 Drum Majors, which change every year. The Concert Bands are split by skill. There is the Wind Emsemble (the advanced band), the Symphonic Band (the intermediate band), and in the 2008-2009 school year, their will be a Beginning band for students new to music. The school's choirs are Visions (Beginning Choir), Montage (All Girls Show Choir), and Impressions (Advanced Boys and Girls Show Choir). Impressions has traveled to Europe (Scotland, Prague, Greece, etc.) And Asia (China) as American Embassadors to perform.
