It is the fifth in the railroad's "Heritage Series" of locomotives painted in honor of UP predecessor railroads. 1995 is painted in honor ofChicago and North Western Railway , which became a part of UP in 1995.The locomotive, painted at the
Horicon, Wisconsin , shops ofWisconsin and Southern Railroad , was unveiled at a private ceremony for UP's ex-CNW employees atProviso Yard in suburban Chicago onJuly 15 2006 , before being publicly displayed atOgilvie Transportation Center (C&NW's former station) inChicago . After its unveiling, the locomotive pulledfreight train MPRCB from Proviso toCouncil Bluffs, Iowa in conjunction with CNW 8646 and 8701 (the last two locomotives still in CNW paint). The 1995 then entered regular revenue service, eventually operating throughIowa ,Wisconsin , andMinnesota .External links
