Eva Kurowski (born 1965 in
Oberhausen ) is a Germanjazz musician and singer.Life
Kurowski's father Walter is a jazz musician and plays in many clubs in the
Ruhr Valley, (K-14 in Oberhausen, Blue-Note in Eisenheim), and therefore his daughter was constantly exposed to jazz from an early age.In 1982 Kurowski began singing and met many musicians, including her promoter
Helge Schneider . She appeared with him andUwe Lyko regularly on stage as of 1983.In "
Stangenfieber ", Helge Schneider's firstshort film , Kurowski sang the main song and played the socondary role. Working on this film she met cameramanChristoph Schlingensief and appeared in the preshow of his "Mülheim"Filmclub 69 . She assists on television shows under the guidance ofAlfred Edel .In 1992 Kurowski founded a band with
Christian Brockmeier on piano,Dieter Stein on contrabass andMike Gosen on drums. She performs duets with pianistMartin Scholz . In 1997 she performed with the [http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Isfort Tim Isfort] Orchestra und forBlixa Bargeld .In 2001 Kurowski received the

Music
Kurowski writes her own music and words, based in a classical jazz sound. Her female perspective in her songs is influenced by daily life in the Ruhr Valley, and alternates between pop, children's songs and jazz.
