Cyrillic : Бегаљица) is a suburban settlement ofBelgrade , the capital ofSerbia . It is located in the municipality ofGrocka .Location
Begaljica is located in
Podunavlje , northernŠumadija region, in the central part of the municipality. It is 5 km away from the municipal seat ofGrocka (to which it makes a continuous built-up area along the road) and 35 km to the east from downtown Belgrade. West of Begaljica is "Begaljičko brdo" ("Begaljica Hill") with one of the steepest sections of the Belgrade-Niš highway .Population
Begaljica is classified as a rural settlement (village). Population grew slowly or was stagnating for decades, but in recent years it began depopulating. Population of Begaljica:

Begaljica is outside of major roads and the agriculture is the most important for the settlement's economy. The most important of all is a fruit growing as the entire area is one of the most famous fruit producing area of Serbia, with vast orchards (apples, peaches, apricots, cherries, etc).
Rajinovac , female monastery of theSerbian Orthodox Church is located in the southern outskirts of the settlement.References
