Panayiotis Kokoras (born 1974) is a Greek
composer ,musician and teacher in music.tudies
Kokoras studied composition with I. Ioannidi, K. Varotsi and Anri Kergomard as well as classical guitar with E. Asimakopoulo in
Athens . In 1999 he moved toEngland , for postgraduate studies at theUniversity of York , where he completed his MA and PhD in composition with T. Myatt with funds from theArts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) andAleksandra Trianti Music Scholarship s (Society Friends of Music) among others.Compositions
His works have been commissioned by institutes and festivals such as

His compositions include significant influences of the electroacoustic studio upon acoustic instrumental compositions and vice versa. Panayiotis Kokoras’ creative output ranges from acoustic works to mixed media, improvisation and tape.
He is a founding member of the
Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) where he is member of the board. He taught at theTechnological and Educational Institute of Crete in the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics. Since October 2005 he has been lecturing at theAristotle University of Thessaloniki in the Department of Music Studies.Discography
