bullpen and starting rotation with 19 starts. He was signed by theNew York Yankees as a free agent during the by|2005 season onMay 17 , and was assigned to the Triple-AColumbus Clippers . He was called up from Columbus onJuly 5 , by|2006, and made a relief appearance against theCleveland Indians , pitching two scoreless innings and giving up no hits. He made his only start for the Yankees onJuly 9 against theTampa Bay Devil Rays replacingShawn Chacón , lasting just 2 2/3 innings while giving up 3 runs on 5 hits.
