Saffiyah bint ‘Abd al-Muttalib

Saffiyah binte ‘Abd al-Muttalib ( _ar. صفية بنت عبدالمطلب, c. late 560s - c. 640 [http://www.geocities.com/mutmainaa7/people/safiyah.html] was a Sahaba and a prominent person in Islamic history.

Biography

She was the daughter of Shaiba ibn Hashim (Abd al-Muttalib) and the sister of Hamza and thus Muhammad's aunt and Ali's aunt.Imamate: The Vicegerency of the Prophet [http://www.al-islam.org/ Al-islam.org] [http://www.al-islam.org/imamate/3.htm] ]

She was then married to Awwam ibn Khuwaylid Fact|date=February 2007 and was the mother of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam.
