- Cholestenes
-
Cholestenes are derivatives of cholestanes which have a double bond. One of the most significant cholestenes is cholecalciferol.
If there are two double bonds, the molecule is known as a "cholestadiene". Examples include fusidic acid, lanosterol, and stigmasterol.
