euroroute= European route number small sign|22The A180 is a
primary route in northernEngland , that runs from theM180 motorway toCleethorpes . The road is a continuation of the M180, but built to lower specifications: it is mainly dual two-lane withouthard shoulder s. The road is (mostly grade separated)dual carriageway for fifteen miles from the M180 toGrimsby , and is a single carriageway road for two miles betweenGrimsby and central Cleethorpes. The road forms part of the unsigned Euroroute E22.Route
The A180 begins at junction 5 of the M180 in
North Lincolnshire , where it picks up traffic from the motorway and theA15 road heading towards the ports of Grimsby andImmingham . The road crosses the border intoNorth East Lincolnshire and has a junction with theA160 road to Immingham Dock. It bypasses the small town of Immingham before meeting theA1173 road (linking to theA46 road to Lincoln). The road then has a junction with theA1136 road prior to having tworoundabout junctions with local roads. In central Grimsby, the A180 meets theA16 road (to Louth and Boston) at a roundabout, and continues along the front into Cleethorpes. In central Cleethopes the A180 terminates at a roundabout with theA1098 road .The A180 was opened in 1983 as an extension to the M180. The road surface was known to be especially noisy, but an improvement scheme in 2005 led to the resurfacing of much of the road to reduce the noise.
