] It counted many well known names as regular guests, including John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Nikita Khrushchev and Fidel Castro.

The club is now part of the George Washington University campus (as the [http://www.gwu.edu/~alumni/ Alumni House] ), Laura Gross having died some years ago. Starting in July 2008, the Alumni House will officially become the President's House. This will be the first time that a sitting University President has lived on the Foggy Bottom Campus. Prior to 1974, the building was owned by The American University and served as the "Downtown Campus."
