Jane Scott

Jane Scott (1920- ) was an influential rock critic for "The Plain Dealer". She is a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio, the University of Michigan, and The Wilcox College of Commerce. Her music journalism career started in 1966 when she interviewed The Beatles after a Cleveland performance. Before that interview she was the Teen Editor at The Plain Dealer, "But after I started writing about the Beatles, nobody wanted anything else on my page but rock." During her career she covered every major rock concert in Cleveland and was on a first name basis with many stars. Until her retirement from the paper in 2002 she was known as "The Oldest Living Rock Critic." She was also influential in bringing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to Cleveland.
