East View Cartographic

East View Cartographic

East View Cartographic is a leading American provider of geospatial information, and of cartographic and GIS services, much of it outsourced to offshore companies. They are headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, with offices in Russia.

Eat View has played a role in gaining access to and then marketing original geospatial information from China and Russia, pertaining in particular to Asia, South America, and Africa, areas of the world for which the United States of America does not have tactical maps at the 1:50,000 or better level, with contour lines.

Their capability is notable especially in the context of proving the value of open source intelligence, and were one of the six companies that responded, "pro bono", with useful open source information when asked to do so by the Aspin-Brown Commission.
