"Thianitara" is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders). Its only species, "T. spectrum", is only found on Sumatra. However, there are undescribed species that belong to this genus in Malaysia and SabahMurphy & Murphy 2000: 289] .

The male of "T. spectrum" is close to the genus "Thiania".

Name

The genus name is a combination of the salticid genera "Thiania" and "Tara".
