Thiruvennainallur is famous for the temple of Lord Shiva(Kripapureeshwarar), where Sundaramoorthy nayanar started singing the praise of God after being shown the path of light by the God Himself. Additionally, this is the place where the sage Sandalya was in his penance and attained "moksha".
