Ranavav is a city and a municipality in Porbandar district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Geography

Ranavav is located at coord|21.68|N|69.75|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/9/Ranavav.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Ranavav] ] . It has an average elevation of 40 metres (131 feet).

Ranavav has a nice cement factory owned by Mr.Jay Mehta (husband of bollywood actress Mrs.Juhi Chawla).the factory is completely automated and is proud of ranavav.

There is also one historical place from the time of ramayan. It is called the Jambuvant's tunnel near ranavav railway station.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Ranavav had a population of 24,202. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Ranavav has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 55%. In Ranavav, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
