Quepem is a town and a municipal council in South Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. This is birthplace of the author Agostinho Fernandes.

Geography

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Quepem had a population of 12,484. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Quepem has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 66%. In Quepem, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
