Frantic Films is a Canadian award-winning visual effects, software and live action production company based in
Winnipeg, Manitoba . It employs over 100 people inWinnipeg ,Vancouver, BC andLos Angeles . Frantic Films is also known for producing live action reality shows and documentaries, many concerned with Canadian history.The Software division, Frantic Films Software, produces a range of applications and plug-ins for both in-house and commercial use. Frantic Software's current suite of software includes: Deadline Network Management System, Krakatoa Volumetric Particle Renderer, Awake Suite of Tools for Eyeon Fusion 5, Amaretto rendering plugin for NVIDIA Gelato, and the Flood fluid dynamics suite. The Flood software is a full suite of advanced in-house fluid simulation software including a fluid dynamics simulator, a particle-based slash simulator, and a procedural ocean surface generator. Since its introduction in 2004, Flood was said to be one of the top three fluid simulation tools in the world.
