Economy

Joda's economy is mostly comprised of large-scale iron producers, such as; Tata Steel, Jindal, and SAIL.

This region has some of the richest iron deposit in India. Steel plants like TISCO and Rourkela Steel Plant are located near the Joda region. In early 2000 this region has seen immense industrialization. Though this has brought wealth to people of Joda, the living conditions have deteriorated immensely.Fact|date=September 2008 Health-care, roads and schools are in need of repair. The newly created railway line between Barbil (a town 8 km away from Joda) and Kolkata has brought relief to local people.

Its a hub for many big industries related to steel manufacturing like... Essel Mining And Industries Ltd. of Aditya Birla Group,Bhushan steel,Jindal Steel and many more. At present a number of Sponge Iron Plants have come up in its periphery due to cheap availability of raw material and labour.
