He started out innon-league football with Letchworth before joining Sheffield United in 1978, shortly before his nineteenth birthday.He had spells at Everton, Newcastle United, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United , West Bromwich Albion, Manchester City, Leeds United, Luton Town, Oxford United and Rotherham United, before a couple of brief spells managing non-league clubs.
He became a fully licensed
FIFA Agent in March 2004 and provides commentary on games for bothPA Sport andBBC Radio Sheffield .
