Scott Eder (born
October 7 1957 inBrooklyn, New York ) is a sports executive, marathoner,triathlete ,personal trainer and gym designer.He is the only child of Howard A. (1932-2002) and Diane G. Eder (b. 1934). Now a longtime resident of Dallas, Scott was an accomplished collegiate baseball player at
Austin College . He later became anIronman triathlete and currently a private coach/trainer to athletes of all sports.Career
Despite the above, Scott is best known as the first manager/agent for multiple
Tour de France ChampionLance Armstrong (1987-1990) (see [http://www.hostcommunications.com/0,6032,1_1421_0_15819,00.html] ). They met when Lance was a 9th grader inPlano, Texas , a suburb of Dallas.Scott Eder Sports was founded in 1986. Today, SES continues to serve on the leading edge of private sports coaching, sports marketing and event management. Scott Eder Sports has worked privately with more than 300 athletes, managed some 30 large participatory events and successfully acquired sponsorships for special events on a local, regional and national scale.He was hired by
Host Communications in 2001 as account manager to oversee corporate sponsorship sales for the American Bicycle Association (ABA) (see [http://www.hostcommunications.com/0,6032,1_1421_0_15819,00.html] ). Since 2002, Scott's Exercise Design Group has grown to focus on designing efficient, functional exercise facilities for private homes, hotels, and clubhouses in country clubs/apartments/condos. West End Five Mile Run , the Executive Director of popular TRI-GUY’s Triathlon race series created in 1989 and The Executive Director of TheStonebridge Ranch Kids Triathlon founded in 2003.In 2007 Scott started the Brian Loncar Racing Team with himself and 8 other racers. The triathlon racing team based in Dallas, Texas ended the season with 17 members. In 2008 the team will expand, sponsoring 35 amateur athletes, making it the most well-funded team of its type in the amateur triathlon world. Athletic career
In the past 23 years, Scott has completed more than 140 triathlons, qualified for and finished the
Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon and TheBoston Marathon . Scott has run a total of 18 marathons including a personal best of 2 hours 47 minutes in the 1983Houston Tenneco Marathon .Trivia
In 1955, Scott's father first-baseman Howard Eder 6'2", 200 lbs., a 1954 LIU grad, was a final cut from the
Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Team. Howard was offered a minor league contract with the Montreal Dodgers but declined playing to start a family and begin teaching and coaching at Wells Junior High School in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY.External links
