Railways
It is the country’s railhead on the White Nile, not far north of the outlet from
Lake Albert .The next port on the White Nile is
Juba in southernSudan In June 2006, Chinese assistance was promised to build a railway extension from Pakwach to Juba.
Juba is still about 600 km south of the Sudan Railways southernmost station at Wåw.
Should the Ugandan and Sudanese railways ever meet, there will be a
break of gauge problem which can be reduced by building the new tracks withgauge convertible sleepers.See also
