R/V "Thomas G. Thompson" (T-AGOR-23) is a research vessel owned by the United States Navy and operated under a Charter Party Agreement by the University of Washington. The "Thomas G. Thompson" and three other research ships were all built to the same basic design. The three sister ships are "NOAAS Ronald H. Brown" (NOAA), "R/V Roger Revelle" (Scripps) and "R/V Atlantis" (Woods Hole).
