Massachusetts is one of the most Democratic states. In the 2004 presidential election it was also the home state of Democratic candidate John Kerry, who represents Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate. Kerry won Massachusetts, with a 25% lead against George W. Bush.
The 2004 Democratic National Convention took place from 2004-07-26 to 2004-07-29 at the TD Banknorth Garden, then called FleetCenter, in Boston, the state capital.
