StictyosiphonDictyosiphonales is an order in the class Phaeophyceae (brown algae). Members of this order have a sporphytic thallus with true parenchyma formed by both longitudinal and transverse cell division with a thallus that is solid, tubular flat, saccate, branched or foliose.
The Dictyosiphonales include some common littoral seaweeds but the members of the order generally have a relatively undifferentiated structure without the conventional construction of a holdfast, stipe and lamina. .[1]
As their general name suggests their pigmentation is brown.
