Nigam

Nigam is an Indian surname found among Kayasthas.[1] Most of the people with surname "Nigam" are found in the northern states of India, such as Punjab, Haryana, National Capital Territory of Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. One of the son of Lord Chitragupt was Antarvendreya. He was of very religious nature and spends lots of time in reading of Veds.He deployed his sons in the study of Veds or Nigam. Due to this tradition, their generations adopted names of Nigams.
