Arkansas Highway 139

Highway 139, or AR-139 for short, is a disjointed pair of north-south highways in northeastern Arkansas. Both sections have northern termini on the Missouri state line. At the Missouri state line north of Pollard, Arkansas in Clay County it continues as Route 51. At Pollard it has its junction with US-62, which it follows to Piggott . At Piggot it continues south to an intersection with AR-90. It then follows AR-90 west to Rector, and then heads south to US-412 in eastern Greene County, where its northern section ends close to the St. Francis River.

Continuing a county road of Dunklin County, Missouri, AR-139 emerges in eastern Craighead County as another segment of north-south highway, having its southern terminus on AR-18 in Monette, Arkansas.

It exists entirely in Clay, Greene, and Craighead Counties in Arkansas and lies close to the St. Francis River in low, flat ground dedicated largely to cotton growing where it isn't swampy. Swamps near this road should be entered with care because of rattlesnakes and cottonmouths.
