Mastelotto started playing the
drum s at the age of 10. When he was 16, he was playing in popular local bands and, while still inhigh school , commuted several hours toLake Tahoe for gigs. Beginning in the 1970s, Mastelotto worked for many bands and as a studio session drummer. In this capacity he worked for Mr. Mister, Scandal,Al Jarreau ,Pointer Sisters ,Patti LaBelle ,Kenny Loggins ,XTC ,The Sugarcubes ,Hall & Oates , Cock Robin,The Rembrandts ,Jude Cole ,Eddie Money ,Tina Arena ,Martika ,Jack Wagner , Danny Wilde,Mark Jordon ,Matthew Sweet ,Julia Fordham ,Robyn Hitchcock ,David Sylvian , and others.In 1991, Mastelotto co-produced
Peter Kingsbery 's first soloalbum . Since 1994 Mastelotto has been a member of King Crimson, and appears on over twenty King Crimsonalbum s and severalmusic video s. He also produced, edit and mixed on several King CrimsonProjeKcts releases. He continued guesting on other projects, includingJay Terrien 's solo debut album "All the Dolls in the Same Place ", the fourth Cock Robin album released in 2006, a duet with drummerTerry Bozzio ,CGT ,Mecca ,Tony Levin 's solo album "Stick Man" (2007) and with solo work. He is also a member of the progressive/experimental bands TU and KTU, with fellow King Crimson alumnusTrey Gunn , Tuner and Centrozoon; both withMarkus Reuter as well as his personal projects, Mastica and M.P.TU.In the 1990s, Mastelotto moved to Austin,
Texas , and has worked withStoryville ,Abra Moore ,And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead , plusWill Taylor .Mastelotto was on tour with
The Flower Kings inEurope in 2007 promoting for their album "The Sum Of No Evil ". He has begun working with King Crimson for a few selected shows in August 2008.External links
