- Toronto Purchase
The Toronto Purchase was an agreement between the
British crown and the Mississaugas of New Credit in1787 . The Mississaugas of New Credit exchanged for 250,808 acres (101,528 hectares) of land inToronto for 149 barrels of goods and a small amount of cash. A revision of the deal was made in1805 .The land sold consists of:

* former city ofToronto, Ontario
* west end of the former city ofScarborough, Ontario
* former city ofYork, Ontario
* former city ofEast York
* City ofVaughan, Ontario
