Geography

# It is also one of the oldest town of chittorgarh district.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Begun had a population of 35,678. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Begun has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

One of Mewar's important rivers, Brahmani, runs through Begun.

Begun also has a fort which is surrounded by a small river.
