Athmallik is a town and a notified area committee in Anugul district in the state of Orissa, India.

Geography

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Athmallik had a population of 11,383. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Athmallik has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Politics

Current MLA from Athmallik Assembly Constituency is Nagendra Kumar Pradhan of BJD, who won the seat in State elections of 2004. Earlier, he had won this seat as BJD candidate in 2000 and as JD candidate in 1990. Amarnath Pradhan of INC had won it in 1995 and 1985. Bhajaman Behera of INC(I) won this seat in 1980.
