Its administrative seat and largest town isŻuromin , which lies convert|121|km|mi|0 north-west ofWarsaw . The only other town in the county isBieżuń , lying convert|13|km|mi|0|abbr=on south of Żuromin.The county covers an area of convert|805.01|km2|sqmi|1. As of 2006 its total population is 40,078, out of which the population of Żuromin is 8,647, that of Bieżuń is 1,874, and the rural population is 29,557.
