metre s (1174 feet).There are so many villages nearby the town. National Highway No.7, passes across the town and connects from Rewa to Maihar.There is an old Garhi in town which was built by the Lodhi Jagirdars in ancient time. There is a Jagannath swami temlpe in side the Garhi. Pratapgarhiis also a very nice place which the residence of Shri Shivamohan Singh Ji, Ex IGP (IPS), Shri Rajendra Singh Ji, Ex Minister of MP . It is the origin place of river Beehar. There is a very fine garden in front of the mahal.
Amarpatan is a tahsil place of Satna.It is a Nagar Pachayat.Amarpatan is 36 KM from distt headquerter.nearest Railway Station is Maihar which is 24km. Amarpatan is a well devolopped town.It has a Degree college and many schools.
Village-Kakra is situated at 8th km on Amarpatan-Rewa Road.People of many communities are living here in coordially and peacefulley. Brahmins (Urmalia, Pandey, Tiwari, Gautam, Bilohan, Shukla,Chaturvedi,Mishra,Dwivedi), Thakur(Sengar,Baghel,Parihar) Patels, Kori, Teli, Kol, Charmakars, Basod, Ahir, Gadaria, dhobi, Kumhar, Lohar, Badhai, Darji, singraha and Nau communities are living together.
Around 14 km from Amarpqatan there is a small place named Gorsari. This place is known for natural beauty. It is a land of tigers. Patoul is hill top area, recently a cave was revealed by second son of thakur saheb of Gorsari Rajendra Bahadur Singh ji.

The land quality of village is medium. There is no any resource of irrigation hence the agriculture is totally depended on rains. A tubewell with overtank was established for water supply to the village long times ago.
