Botrychiaceae (moonwort family) is a segregate family of ferns. The family includes only the genus "Botrychium", which in some treatments is broken into several more narrowly defined genera, "Botrychium" s.s., "Botrypus", "Japanobotrychium", and "Sceptridium". Most recent fern classifications have taken a broad circumscription of "Botrychium" and include the genus in family Ophioglossaceae.

The family is not recognized in the classification of Smith et al.,cite journal | last=Smith | first=Alan R.| coauthors= Kathleen M. Pryer, Eric Schuettpelz, Petra Korall, Harald Schneider, & Paul G.
